FAQs

  • After you fill out an interest form, I will reach out to you in 24-48 hours to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to learn more about you and also to see if we are a good fit. Once the phone call is completed and both parties want to move forward, I will schedule a first appointment with you.

  • Hur Counseling provides psychotherapy, which means talk therapy. This type of therapy consists of various questions, reflections, and activities. I incorporate various activities and worksheets to allow clients to apply and reflect the information learned in a practical way.

  • What is recommended typically to make progress is between 8-10 sessions. You can request to meet more or less depending on your personal needs and goals, created with your therapist.

  • Hur Counseling accepts private pay and insurance, Aetna only. By paying privately, you maintain full control over your health information—no third parties, no insurance claims, and no required diagnoses. This ensures your sessions and personal details remain strictly confidential, which both research and therapists highlight as a major benefit. Clients also enjoy greater flexibility—personalized treatment, session lengths and frequency determined by what YOU need, not insurance mandates. We’re in-network with Aetna, so you can opt to use insurance directly if preferred. When scheduling, please indicate your preferred payment method. If you'd like more details on how private pay protects your privacy or avoids insurance limitations, I’m happy to explain further.

Most of my clients are private pay. Being private pay allows me to protect your health information and gives me the autonomy to adjust your treatment plan as needed without a third party organization having separate requirements for you.

I can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. You’ll receive a detailed superbill (a comprehensive receipt with necessary procedure and diagnosis codes) that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Reimbursement depends on your policy—please check with your insurer to confirm coverage for superbill submissions.

  • So many things! You get to talk about the things in your mind and heart, and have a non-judgmental third party professional hear you and walk with you in this journey of healing. You have a space to be completely yourself, without having to be mindful of anyone else, BUT YOU. You are the main character and the driver in this conversation; as your therapist, I am there to guide you and walk alongside you to find the solution and/or the hope you need.

  • Please notify me through email 24 hours in advance if you cannot make it to a scheduled session. Any cancellations within the 24 hours of our appointment time will result in a charge of the full session fee.

  • Individual counseling and parent sessions are $160/50 minutes.

    Couples counseling is $170/50 minutes.

    Family counseling is $180/50 minutes.

I offer a sliding scale as low as $110 for those who may need financial support. Please reach out and we can work something out together!

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of what your services may cost.

Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges

If you are uninsured or choosing to pay for services without using insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate that outlines the expected cost of your counseling services before you begin care.

A Good Faith Estimate is a written summary of the charges we reasonably expect for the services you would receive, based on the information you give us. It helps you plan and compare costs before your appointment. This estimate will be provided in clear, understandable language and can be delivered electronically or on paper, based on your preference.

Your Good Faith Estimate will include information such as:

  • Your name and date of birth

  • A description of the services you are considering

  • An itemized list of expected charges for those services

  • An estimate of total expected charges based on the information available

  • A statement that the estimate is not a contract and actual charges may vary

To request your Good Faith Estimate, please contact us before scheduling services or at any time by phone or email, and we will send your estimate in writing within the required timeframe.

If you receive a bill that is $400 or more above your written Good Faith Estimate, you may be eligible to dispute the bill under federal law. Please contact us if you have questions about the dispute process.
