Hello! My name is Jen.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas.
I’m so glad you’re here — it’s an honor to walk alongside you in this process. Counseling is a space where you can be your full self, find healing, and reclaim hope. My role is to support you with empathy, insight, and partnership as we journey toward your growth and well-being.
I’m an Asian American therapist, and part of my own life story includes navigating the particular challenges, expectations, and questions that can come with growing up between cultures. Because of this, I bring not just professional training—but also lived experience—to our work together. It’s deeply meaningful to me to help clients who may share those cultural threads, and to honor how identity shapes our mental and emotional lives.
A bit about me: I earned a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Communications from the University of Texas at Austin. After starting a career in advertising, I felt a strong pull toward deeper human connection and purpose, which led me to counseling. I went on to complete my Master’s in Education (School Counseling emphasis) at UT Austin.
In my practice, I draw on evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also adapting to the unique needs of each client. I work with adolescents, adults, and families—helping you notice and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, build emotional resilience, and strengthen relationships. I aim to create a safe, collaborative environment where your experiences are received, understood, and met with compassion.
Whether you’re seeking help for yourself, your child, your relationship, or your family, I provide personalized therapy grounded in trust, respect, and collaboration. With over 10 years of experience working with youth-aged students and with diverse experience in school counseling, behavioral health, and private practice, I bring a wealth of expertise to help clients make meaningful changes in their lives.
I believe in the power of healing from within and are committed to guiding you on a path toward emotional wellness, hope, and positive transformation. I am fully committed to serving clients in their personal growth, and guiding them from any gender, race, age, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and physical/mental ability. I truly believe healing begins with knowing one’s identity and self-worth. If you’re ready to take the first step toward lasting change, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

About Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
In our work together, I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you break free from negative thought patterns and behaviors that may be holding you back. CBT is a practical, solution-focused approach that can help you develop healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and responding to life’s challenges.
Here’s how it works:
Identify Negative Thoughts: Together, we’ll examine the thoughts that contribute to your stress, anxiety, or depression. Often, these thoughts are automatic and unhelpful, but by bringing them to light, we can begin to challenge their accuracy and impact.
Change Your Thinking: Once we identify these patterns, we’ll work on reshaping those thoughts into more balanced, realistic, and positive ones. This shift can have a significant impact on your emotions and behavior, allowing you to respond to situations in healthier ways.
Build New Skills: CBT is not just about understanding thoughts; it’s about making lasting changes. We’ll focus on developing new coping strategies, improving your problem-solving skills, and strengthening your ability to manage stress and difficult emotions.
By using CBT, I help clients build a toolbox of skills to address both the symptoms they’re facing today and the challenges that may arise in the future. Over time, you’ll gain more control over your thoughts, reactions, and emotions, leading to lasting improvements in your mental health and overall well-being.
If you're ready to break the cycle of negative thinking and start living with more clarity, confidence, and peace, CBT is a proven method that can help you get there. Let’s work together to create the positive changes you deserve! You can book an appointment by clicking the link below.
